Where to begin? OK, well how about years and years ago when Shannon was born? Too far back? Well, OK. How about to the day, about a year ago, when my gorgeous cousin Shannon asked me to fly solo and photograph her and her fiance’s wedding? I was speechless, nervous, proud, scared…. and TOTALLY excited!
Shannon and Mike are such an amazing couple! You know those couple’s you just love to be around because they are so happy about life, themselves, and all that they do? Ya, that’s Mike and Shannon. As you will see from the photos, Mike has a mad love for soccer so we incorporated that into our photos.
Now let’s talk details. The dress. Stunning! The church. Quaint. The flowers. AMAZING!! The family. So full of love. The reception site. I want to live there… seriously. Does the Wentworth have a penthouse?
OK, so let’s back the train up to the morning of the wedding. All the ladies got ready at Shannon’s family home and so the atmosphere there was a buzz of happiness and excitement. No nerves… well except my own when I photographed the dress and the fantastic diamond earrings that the bride wore. Did I mention those yet? Oh, you have to see them! Wowzer!
So, then on to the New Castle Congregational Church. I LOVE this church. It is exactly what you think of when you think of a New England church. A sun filled balcony, pews with doors, shutters on the windows. The ceremony was so full of love… and a few laughs. Mike gave the ADORABLE ring boy a $5 tip when he delivered the rings to him. The look on the ring boys face was priceless:)
I did not have an official second shooter for this wedding, but my husband, Tom, who was my assistant for this wedding also had my second camera and took some really great photos during the day as well. {I included some of his photos in this post as well.} Thanks so much Tom for all your help on this day!
After the ceremony we took so many fun photos. I usually do not tell what my favorite shot is so not to make the other shots feel bad, but I just have to for this one. I have but one word. Bicycle. When you see the photo, you will see why it is my fav. Shannon, Mike and I {and Jeff and Adam…. thanks boys!} headed off to take a few quick photos down by the water and then we headed to the Wentworth By the Sea… AKA… my dream home. The Wentworth’s flower garden was the PERFEC T setting for wedding photos. So many sweet spots to choose from. Then we went down to the docks to get some more shots and then, oh yes, some soccer shots:)
By then it was time for Mike & Shannon to put on their dancing shoes, and that they did! They surprised us all with a well practiced formal first dance. It was amazing. I think they both smiled through the whole thing! {As did the mother of the bride.}
After that we were all treated to an delicious dinner and for dessert we all had the yummiest tiamisu I think I’ve ever had. Mmmmmmmm….
I could go on and on {clearly} about this day, but I think I will let the photos tell you the rest of their story.
Congratulations Mike and Shannon! I love you both!
